SW Albuquerque, NM – According to an APD email, The Albuquerque Police Department’s Homicide Unit has been dispatched to take over a shooting investigation. Around 10:30pm, on 3/22/2023, APD Officers were originally dispatched to the area of 9201 Central Ave NW, in regards to reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two subjects with apparent gunshot wounds, one victim had already succumbed to their injuries on scene, but the other victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
“There currently is a suspect detained in this matter,” said sworn APD officer and public information official Chase Jewell.
This is Albuquerque’s 27th homicide of 2023.
