At around 8:00 am on May 10th, Albuquerque Fire Rescue received a call about a fire at the Marquee Village apartments, situated at 222 Spruce St NE. The Marquee Village Apartments are located off Tijeras Ave NE and Spruce St NE.
Rescue 3 promptly arrived, assumed command, and observed flames emanating from both the first and second floors of the two-story apartment complex. Engine 3 deployed a hose line to contain the fire while Rescue 3 conducted a thorough search. Within 15 minutes of their arrival, AFR successfully brought the blaze under control. The fire extensively damaged the apartment, rendering it a total loss.
There were no reported injuries among civilians or firefighters. AFR Fire Investigators are currently on-site, determining the cause and origin of the fire. However, as of this posting, authorities have not determined the cause.
