File Photo of AFR Ladder 9 Working a Fire in Albuquerque
Albuquerque –
Shortly after 9:50AM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential fire near 11505 Baldwin Ave NE. Rescue 9 arrived on scene and took an offensive strategy. There was smoke visible when AFR arrived. Based on scanner traffic we heard, it appears as though AFR is working on venting the house and they are trying to shut off the utilities to the property. The area that AFR is focusing on, it appears to be a converted garage.
At this time, it is unknown if there are any occupants at this residence or if there are any injuries to civilians or firefighters.
People are advised to avoid the area so AFR and emergency resources can access the scene in a safe and prompt manner.
This is a developing story, we will update it as more information becomes available.
UPDATE:
AFR was reportedly cleared from the scene at 11:30AM.
As of this updated posting, we have not received any further details on injuries or what caused the fire.
