Albuquerque – On October 17th, 2023, a crash on I-40 between Eubank Blvd. and Juan Tabo Blvd happened just before noon. It has caused a traffic nightmare. A semi-truck collided with a power line on the east bound on ramp at Juan Tabo heading east on I-40, it lead to the closure of all lanes in both directions.
The load was a cylindrical trailer that hooked onto the power line and tore it across the freeway. We observed that the power lines were down on the interstate roadway. Power is also out in the area.
The New Mexico State Police have diverted westbound traffic to Juan Tabo and eastbound traffic to Eubank. Avoid this area and find an alternate route.
