At around 9:40 PM on Sunday, May 19th, Albuquerque Fire Rescue and the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a serious injury crash at Chico Rd NE and Polin Springs Trl NE. Chico Rd NE and Polin Springs Trl NE is one block west of Chico Rd NE and Morris St NE.
A witness at the scene, who reportedly called 911, said the pedestrian struck in the crash did not have a pulse.
According to APD, preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was standing in the roadway at this intersection. Earlier, reports indicated a man was looking into vehicles in the area, and the description of the pedestrian who was hit matches that man. Video footage shows the individual standing in the roadway when a dark-colored SUV struck them.
The SUV fled the area, and authorities pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The Fatal Crash Unit of APD is investigating this deadly accident.
Our mom did not deserve this, and as far as that road goes, my family amd I went over there last night and witnessed several cars going about 40 mph it’s no wonder why people get killed . We will not stop until justice is served for our moms killer. She was a very kind person ask around the area.
