Albuquerque –

Around 12:30PM, the Albuquerque Police Department used patrol officers, the mounted unit, and PRT officers to clear out an alleyway near Central and Louisiana that has long been a haven for a large homeless population to congregate.

In the alley we observed lots of trash, human feces, human urine, used drug needles, and unwanted property left behind by the unhoused people. APD used it’s mounted patrol horses for crowd control to move them out of the area. During the hour or so of moving people out, the APD horses did’t even do their own pooping in the alleyway.

APD did make contact with at least 3 people who had active warrants and/or were in possession of drug paraphernalia.

We will update the story when booking mugs and charges are available related to this story.
