Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office Statement:

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call for service on April 1st, 2022, in reference to a sexual abuse call involving a 16-year-old female victim. The mother of the victim was in an intimate relationship with the suspect, identified as Bradley Wallin (52).

BCSO Special Victims Unit detectives arrived on scene and continued the investigation in reference to the allegations of more than 10 years of sexual abuse. Detectives assisted the mother and victim in obtaining an emergency order of protection, which remained in place pending the criminal investigation.

An interview was conducted with the juvenile, and a medical examination was scheduled but had not yet been completed. The early stages of this investigation included an attempt to locate surveillance footage of the suspect, interviewing witnesses, and identifying additional victims. Detectives were able to interview a second victim, an adult, who disclosed similar abuse as a minor. A third victim was identified and agreed to speak with detectives but never came forward to meet.

As the criminal case against Bradley Wallin was developing, BCSO detectives were advised that on May 8th, at 12:30 pm, the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a double murder and suicide in the parking lot of Party City located at 10224 Coors Blvd Bypass. The Albuquerque Police Department and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to share information and determine Bradley Wallin had committed the murder-suicide by shooting the juvenile victim of the sexual abuse allegations, her 16-year-old male cousin, and himself.

Our detectives are saddened by this tragic and senseless murder committed by Bradley Wallin. The Special Victims Unit investigates crimes involving children, including sexual abuse. These detectives work tirelessly to bring justice to the most vulnerable. This horrific act weighs heavy on the hearts of our detectives and deputies.
