Albuquerque, NM – BCSO through a spokesperson has revealed the Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen jumped into action today while off duty. Apparently the Sheriff witnessed some cretins of society trying to make off with property from a store which was not free to take. A press release goes on to say:
“We as the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office are committed to transparency and keeping you informed about important events. This evening, an incident took place at Dick’s Sporting Goods on NM 528 near Ellison Dr. NW, where Sheriff Allen found himself facing an unexpected situation while he was out with his family.
As peace officers, we are always on duty, and this incident is a clear testament to that dedication. Sheriff Allen, who promised our citizens that he would do everything in his power to dismantle the crime crisis plaguing our community, demonstrated his unwavering commitment by intervening during an active crime even while off duty.
As you are well aware, our community has been grappling with a rising crime rate, frequent shoplifting affecting businesses, and the alarming fentanyl epidemic impacting the lives of our fellow citizens. This evening, Sheriff Allen witnessed three individuals stuffing duffel bags with the intent to steal items from the store. In his pursuit to protect our community and uphold the law, he confronted the perpetrators. Two individuals wisely chose to abandon the items and leave the store. However, one person initiated a physical altercation with Sheriff Allen. Displaying exceptional training and professionalism, Sheriff Allen detained the individual until deputies arrived to take over the investigation, ensuring the safety of all present.
This incident serves as a powerful message to all of us — that we, as a community, must unite and take our county back from the rampant crime. Although, it is crucial to emphasize the importance of citizen safety. While we commend Sheriff Allen’s bravery and dedication, we must stress that we do not recommend citizens intervene in such situations. Your safety is of the utmost importance to us. Instead, we urge you to call for law enforcement assistance if you witness any criminal activities.
Sheriff Allen’s actions while off duty underscore that law enforcement officers are committed to their duty around the clock, no matter the circumstances. We remain steadfast in our efforts to clean up Bernalillo County and protect the citizens we serve. Let us work together to build a safer and stronger community.”
We want to thank the BCSO leader for jumping into action in a time where businesses are being targeted very frequently by low life scum bags like these.
