Albuquerque –
On August 8th, 2023, the Federal Bureau Investigation’s Albuquerque field office was involved in an agent involved shooting during an law enforcement activity at the 12700 block of Mountain.
While on scene we noticed a house that was the focus of the investigation with a garage door open and the side of of the house had a broken window with blinds ruffled.
In an emailed statement the FBI said:
One subject is deceased and FBI personnel were unharmed.
The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously.
In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to provide.
Property records for the residence indicate it is being rented and someone who resided there had a federal felony conviction for armed robbery in 2020 at a gas station in Albuquerque.
This is the 93rd homicide for Albuquerque in 2023. We will update this story if and when more information becomes available.
