Albuquerque –

According to a criminal complaint, on May 5th, 2022, Albuquerque Police officers were dispatched to the Four Hills Studios, located at 12901 Central Ave. NE in reference to a shooting call. Officers searched the area and found an adult male and a toddler. Officers noted that the toddler had three left toes severely injured.

The toddler was transported to UNMH with non-life threatening injuries. Officers continued the investigation and located the mother, Samantha Sanchez, and her boyfriend Lucian Apachito. The couple admitted to police that they were in a domestic fight. Sanchez said she did not want Apachito at the home and pulled a gun. The two struggled over the gun and it discharged. The criminal complaint stated that Sanchez told officers the bullet had ricocheted off something and hit the babys foot.

The complaint went on to state that the two adults had varying stories about what had actually happened. CYFD workers responded to the hospital and there is no word on if the toddler was removed from the parents custody.

Sanchez’s court case is pending.
