JURY CONVICTS WOMAN OF CHILD ABUSE HOMICIDE

Albuquerque – The 2nd judicial district court announced today that late Tuesday afternoon, a jury convicted Gloria Tesillo of First Degree Child Abuse Resulting in Death, and also Third Degree Child Abuse. It took jurors less than 30 minutes to reach their verdict.

BACKGROUND:

On July 16, 2023, Tesillo stayed and worked at the Days Inn on Coors and Iliff NW. Her 6-month-old twins and the father of the twins were also staying there.

When Tesillo arrived back at the hotel room from her shift, one of the twins was unconscious and not breathing. Lifesaving measures were unsuccessful and the child was pronounced deceased. The room itself was nasty and littered with drug paraphernalia and had the stench of Fentanyl.

The OMI concluded the cause of death was the toxic effect of Meth.

The father was later interviewed and admitted to supposed to have been watching the children.  He stated that he had used fentanyl and passed out and when he woke up the child was already dead. A hair follicle test on the surviving twin showed the baby tested positive for cocaine, fentanyl, cannabis, methamphetamine, and benzodiazepines.

  1. I wonder if the father is being tried for child abuse resulting in death also, as well as child abuse on the other twin for exposing it to meth too!
