We are getting word there has been an Officer Involved incident in the area of Tramway and Central near the Waffle House and Motel 6.
APD patrol officers saw a suspicious vehicle in the SE part of Albuquerque. Auto theft detectives took over the pursuit. The shooting happened in the Motel 6 parking lot.
The suspect was wounded and transported to UNMH.
We will update the suspect information and his pending charges once he is cleared from the hospital and booked into MDC.
This is the 6th time in a month suspects have engaged in a shoot out with law enforcement officers in the Albuquerque area.
