Quiet SE Neighborhood Rocked by Drive By Shooting, At Least 15 Shots Fired

Albuquerque –

Early this afternoon, the Albuquerque Police Department received ShotSpotter notifications about shots being fired in the quiet Parkland Hills neighborhood near Kirtland Air Force Base.

Additional notifications came in about even more shots being fired and APD responded to the area. Officers located over 12 casings in the street near the 1700 block of Ridgecrest Circle. The shooter targeted a house on that block and we could see crime scene investigators collecting bullet casings and documenting the impacts of the rounds into the property.

Witnesses say they saw a white Ford sedan with front end damage driving like a mad man and firing rounds with no regard to human life or property.

APD is still looking for the suspect and we will update the story if they take anyone into custody from this incident.

  1. I wonder if that is the same white sedan with front end damage that killed a 22 year old girl on Friday. I saw the scene on I-25 near Socorro. Driver hit her and continued northbound without stopping.
