Casino Salazar

Albuquerque Police and Albuquerque Fire and Rescue were called out to a three vehicle crash on Saturday November 20th, 2021.
They transported five people to the hospital and one victim was killed.
APD began investigating and found Casino Salazar of Roswell, NM as the person who caused the crash. According to the criminal complaint, witnesses say he was was driving a high rate of speed and ran a red light. He slammed into victim Kevin Barton and killing him.
When an officer tried to interview Salazar at the hospital he observed signs of intoxication and smells of marijuana. Salazar denied driving but the officer found keys on his person.
Salazar had a similar DWI crash in Chaves County where he crashed a vehicle and lead police on a foot chase. Officers found a hand gun with fully automatic modifications and cash over $4000.
By Chaves County judge orders he was not to leave the area and clearly violated his conditions of release being in Albuquerque.
He was booked into MDC on 11/25/2021
