State Rep from Albuquerque Busted for DWI in Santa Fe (Video Below)

Santa Fe –

Early Monday morning, The Santa Fe Police Departments DWI unit arrested State Representative Georgene Louis (D- Albuquerque), on charges of aggravated DWI, speeding, no car registration, and not having insurance. Louis is currently being held in Santa Fe on a no bond hold.

She is a representative of District 26 an area around Central Avenue in ABQ, west of 98th Street and along Unser north to Ladera Drive.

State Representatives Georgene Louis D- Albuquerque,

House Speaker Brian Egolf, (D-Santa Fe), issued a brief statement about the situation.

“Georgene is a dear friend and a truly excellent legislator,” Egolf said. “Until I have more information about the facts of this incident or the opportunity to speak to her directly, I cannot make any further comment.”

Louis has driving citations for speeding dating back to 2010. The last infraction was a citation of going 26-30 MPH over the posted speed limit in Santa Fe County.
