Westside Albuquerque –
At around 9PM Tuesday night, the Albuquerque Police and Fire and Rescue responded to a double-fatality incident near the intersection of Coors and Irving Blvd NW. We learned from a witness that a car hit a pedestrian on Coors near Irving then also hit a motorcyclist. An update to this, we learned that the car mentioned above was not involved in the crash at all.
The scene turned into a gruesome crash as both of the victims lost appendages and one lost his head during the violent crash. Witnesses on scene tell us that before Albuquerque Police arrived on scene the motorcycle rider was robbed by a transient while he laid on the ground dying.
The APD Fatal Motors Unit is on scene reconstructing the crash and trying to determine what caused this. It appears the car involved did stay on scene.
The intersection at Coors and Irving will be closed down for some time while the investigation happens.
