ALBUQUERQUE – APD’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting in SE Albuquerque, near the 500 block of Ortiz Dr. SE, which is near Zuni and Ortiz Dr.

Reportedly, shortly before 1:00PM on April 3, 2023, APD Officers responded to a shot spotter activation near Zuni and Ortiz Dr. When Officers arrived to the scene of the shooting, they located a female victim with at least one gunshot wound. The female victim was taken to a local area hospital, but she died as a result of the wound.
This is a developing story. When more information is available, an update will be provided.
This is the 30th homicide of 2023 for the Albuquerque Metro Area.
