BCSO Investigating Shooting in East Mountains

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened on June 11th, 2025 in the area of NM Hwy 337 (NM337) and NM Hwy 217 (NM217) in the East Mountains.

According to a tip we received, one person was reportedly shot in the side. Bernalillo County Fire and Rescue responded to the area and transported the individual to a local area hospital.

BCSO Deputies are now searching for casings and additional evidence on NM337 and Anaya Rd. BCSO is also looking for the offender involved.

Around 5:42 PM, BCSO posted on X that “Deputies are in the area of NM Hwy 337 and the 217 in the East Mountains area. Southbound from the 217 to Anaya Rd is closed for police activity! Updates will be posted here when available.”

UPDATE:

BCSO posted an update on X which stated “Deputies are investigating a possible road rage incident. One individual was shot by an unknown offender and was transported to a local hospital. This is an ongoing investigation.”

A previous version of this article mistakenly reported that the shooting took place in the 5600 block of Blue Pine Ave NW. That location pertains to a separate incident being handled by the Albuquerque Police Department’s Northwest Area Command.
