The Problem with the Status Quo

The Albuquerque Journal just released their poll regarding the Mayoral race.

They have just given the mayor a boost in an election that he actually faces an uphill battle to win. 

If Keller doesn’t clinch 50% of the vote, which the Journal poll shows he’s incapable of doing, they should have included data on what a runoff election would entail.  Outlining what a matchup of Keller Vs Every other candidate individually would look like.

Other polls conducted show a runoff has Keller losing to several candidates. However The Journal has chosen to dismiss this and say “undecided voters” could decide the election.

In The Journal writing the article in this way and withholding critical data on a runoff election, they have crafted political propaganda on the Mayor’s behalf.  What an absolute failure of journalistic integrity.

We can and will do better than Keller, so don’t allow the monied interests to manipulate the data and dissuade our communities from demanding better.

This is why we need independent news outlets like ABQ Raw, who will give a voice to what is really happening in our communities and call out the inherent corruption and distortions of the status quo.
