In April, an 11-year-old student at Hope Christian Elementary disclosed to her parents that she had been inappropriately touched multiple times by her teacher, Mr. McEachran. School officials immediately reported the incident to APD and placed McEachran on administrative leave. During the course of the investigation, CACU detectives learned that the student had been touched multiple times over the course of weeks by McEachran. The student disclosed when she had a question for McEachran, he would sit her down in a chair next to his desk and inappropriately touch her over clothing and under clothing.

According to the criminal complaint, McEachran was placed on administrative leave on April 6, 2025, when the allegations surfaced. The child’s parents notified the Hope Christian staff and police about the incidents. The child said McEachran would touch and rub her butt.

The complaint goes on to say, the child said McEachran would have a comfy chair next to his desk and if you asked a question, he’ll have you sit in the chair or if there’s stuff in the chair, then you have to stand next to his desk to ask the question. The child stated that the inappropriate touching occurred over a period of several months.

We reached out to Hope Christian to see when parents were notified and if they will issue a statement regarding these allegations. McEachran is NOT currently in custody and has an active warrant for his arrest.

McEachran has been charged with the following:

  • Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor (under 13 years of age)
  • Criminal Sexual Penetration of a minor (under 13 years of age)

It is believed that there could potentially be other victims of McEachran and detectives are asking for any other potential victims to come forward and speak with them. If you or someone you know may have been a victim of McEachran, please contact APD’s Sex Crime Unit or call 505-242-COPS.

Courts presume that those named or shown are innocent unless and until the prosecution secures a conviction through due process.
