Albuquerque –

Around 7:35 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Airport Dr. NW and Central Ave. NW. According to APD Detective and Public Information Officer Chase Jewell, this was a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash.

Upon arrival, they found one person with critical injuries. The person was immediately transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital. Following the individual’s arrival at UNMH, medical staff evaluated the patient and reportedly upgraded their condition to serious but stable.

At the time of the incident, officers closed east and westbound lanes of Central between Airport and 75th. Westbound Central reopened around 8:43 PM, eastbound Central is still closed as of this publication.

UPDATE:

All lanes were reportedly open back up at 9:20 PM.
