Albuquerque – APD tells us their officers are investigating a fatal vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that happened last night just before 8:00pm. Officers responded to the area of Tramway Blvd. and Manitoba Dr. NE, in the far NE heights after a report of a motor vehicle crash. The early investigation shows a vehicle was traveling northbound on Tramway Blvd., approaching the intersection of Manitoba Dr. The driver stated they did not see the pedestrian until the collision had already occurred. Two witnesses on scene told officers they observed the vehicle already going north bound when the pedestrian crossed through the crosswalk from east to west. Witnesses stated the northbound vehicle had a green traffic signal thus the right of way. The pedestrian died on scene and was not transported to the hospital. Life saving measures were performed on scene, however the pedestrian was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene.
Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash. The investigation is still ongoing and we will update this story if we learn more.
