Person Shoots Themselves During Eviction at ABQ Apartment

The Bernalillo County Sherriff’s Office is on scene of a death investigation at an apartment located at 441 Coors Blvd. NW in Albuquerque.

According to BCSO, at approximately 11:45 a.m. today, BCSO Civil Deputies were attempting to serve an eviction notice when the individual being served shot themselves in the presence of deputies.

The incident will be treated and investigated as an in-custody death. The Multi-Agency Task Force (MATF), which includes investigators from the Albuquerque Police Department, New Mexico State Police and Rio Rancho Police Department, has been called to conduct the investigation.

It should note that BCSO handles eviction notices within the county when final approval is granted by a judge.
