According to the criminal complaint, the officer identified the first driver as smaller in stature female and a male passenger. The officer deployed a GPS tracking device as the truck fled the scene.

The couple drove around the NE area of Albuquerque and hit upwards of 61 miles per hour on some neighborhood streets. The truck did stop at one point and the couple switched seats. The couple ended up at 7600 Marble St NE and fled into the apartment complex.

Officers were able to pursue the duo in a foot chase and arrested them in the apartment complex courtyard.

Bruno told officers she switched seats because she was worried about the drugs in the truck. Bottegoni said he kept trying to evade police because he couldn’t not be apart from Bruno.

The two lovers were charged with aggravated fleeing of an officer and resisting/evading police. Bottegoni picked up a drug charge with fentanyl found in his pants during a search.
