Woman Killed in Weekend Crash, APD Says Car Ran Stop Sign

APD’s Fatal Crash Unit is investigating an overnight vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a driver in Southwest Albuquerque.

Officers responded to the crash at 9:30 p.m. in the area of 98th St. and Amole Mesa Ave., S.W.

Investigators determined that a red Honda was traveling south on 98th St. At Amole Mesa Ave., a blue BMW ran through a stop sign going east to northbound 98th St. The Honda struck into the driver’s side of the BMW.

The driver of the BMW, a 22-year-old female, was transported to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
