Albuquerque –

This morning, Albuquerque Police officers responded to a shooting near South Broadway Park, which is located at 263 Garfield Ave SE. When officers arrived, they found at least one person who had reportedly been shot on the 300 block of Lewis Ave., which is on the southside of the park. Emergency personnel then transported the wounded to a local area hospital for medical care.

APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) is on scene investigating. Our reporter saw that the area was blocked with crime scene tape, and crime scene specialists and detectives were collecting evidence. A neighbor told us that they reportedly heard upwards of ten shots fired around 5:30AM and loud groaning.
