2nd Homicide in Less Than 24 Hours Happens in Albuquerque

Albuquerque-

Christmas and police lights could be seen illuminating a neighborhood in the 400 block of Alamo Avenue SE on. Around 8:30PM, the Albuquerque Police Department was dispatched to a shots fired call with a male subject on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. 

When officers arrived they found the male was dead from the wounds and they initiated a homicide investigation. Officers did detain one individual for questioning. 

While on scene we observed investigators looking around a white sedan and in a cul-de-sac for evidence. 

This is the second homicide within 24 hours of Albuquerque. This is the 144th homicide of 2023.
