AFR Quickly Controls Blaze Threatening Apartment Building

At around 7:15 PM on April 17, 2024, Albuquerque Fire Rescue received a dispatch to 7901 Marquette Ave NE regarding potential structure fire, believed to have originated from an outdoor fire.

Upon arrival, Station 5 observed an outdoor fire spreading along a fence, which had also affected the neighboring abandoned single-story apartment building. Within 10 minutes of their arrival, AFR swiftly contained the fire, with damage primarily limited to the fence and the rear of the building.

According to AFR, there were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters, and the cause remains undetermined at this time. If we learn more about the cause of this fire, we will update you.
