Albuquerque –
The Albuquerque Police Department and APS Police are actively searching Albuquerque High School this morning after numerous calls were placed to 911 about a possible active shooter.
According to APS, Albuquerque High has been placed in a shelter-in-place as of 9:04AM. Police are searching the campus and both Albuquerque Ambulance and Albuquerque Fire Rescue have units staged at the school, but so far, police have not been able to locate the shooter/threat.
It is believed that the person possibly calling in these threats are swatting, but police are doing their due diligence to secure and check the school.
APS also mentions that Valley High is in a shelter in place, but we do not have information about that particular incident.
