At 8:00pm on Wednesday, March 8th, APD’s Sworn PIO Daren DeAguero informed the media that the Albuquerque Police Department Motors Unit was called out to investigate a fatal crash that happened at San Mateo and Lomas.
APD reported that the fatal crash involved a vehicle versus a pedestrian and that the pedestrian was transported to the hospital, but sadly, they did not survive their injuries.
At the time that the email was sent to the media, the intersection of San Mateo and Lomas was closed, so that APD’s Motors Unit could completed an investigation of the crash.
At this time, no additional information has been provided by APD. This is an ongoing investigation and if we learn more later, we will update this story.
