Albuquerque –

On Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2:37PM, we received an email from the Albuquerque Police Department’s civilian PIO Gilbert Gallegos that said “APD detectives are investigating an apparent battery that resulted in life-threatening injuries.”

APD reports that at approximately 12:00PM, APD officers responded to a local hospital where an adult male was transported. APD’s email says, “Officers learned the man was the victim of a battery that occurred earlier in the 1800 block of Marble Ave. NW.” The victim is currently in the hospital in critical condition.

Officers responded to the scene of the incident and requested assistance from detectives to start an investigation. Detectives are still gathering information, but while on the scene, we were told this may have been a domestic battery incident and a unrelated party that passed by the home called 911 when they observed a male victim laying in his driveway with significant injuries.

UPDATE:

At 8:40PM, on Saturday, May 6th, APD sent out an update that said:

“Detectives learned the victim from today’s incident suffered head trauma as a result of an accidental fall while walking up a driveway. The victim is in critical condition at a hospital.”

We will update this story if and when more information becomes available.
