The Albuquerque Police Department homicide unit is pulling double duty investigating two separate suspicious deaths. One is a burned dead person found behind a grocery store and another at a residence in NW Albuquerque.

BURNED BODY CASE

APD detectives are investigating the death of a man discovered today following an overnight fire behind a business in the North Valley.

Officers responded to a call this morning about a deceased body behind the Smith’s grocery store, located at 6125 4th St., N.W. The store is in the Village of Los Ranchos, and officers later learned that the Bernalillo County Fire Department responded to the fire overnight.

The body was discovered this morning around 10:30 a.m. After a preliminary investigation of the scene, APD homicide detectives were called out to take over the investigation.

SUSPICIOUS DEATH AT HOME

APD detectives are investigating a suspicious death discovered today at a home in the 8300 block of Wilson Hurley Ct., N.E., north of Paseo del Norte.

Officers were called to the residence at 1 p.m. today. Homicide detectives are responding to start an investigation due to the suspicious nature of the death.

APD did not indicate what the initial call of service was for at this address.
