Foothills Albuquerque – APD’s Homicide Unit responded to a homicide at the Econo Lodge East, which is located at 13211 Central Ave. NE.
This is breaking news and we will update this post as information becomes available.
For 2023, this is the 38th homicide for the Albuquerque metro area.
UPDATE:
According to APD’s civilian Director of Communications Gilbert Gallegos, said that at around 7AM, APD Officers were dispatched to the Econo Lodge East for reports of a shooting. When the Officers arrived, they found a victim inside of a hotel room, but the individual had already died from their injuries.
When we were on scene we observed crime scene tape on a third floor room and police officers keeping watch over the room.
