UPDATE: APD Investigating Homicide #33 in the War Zone

Albuquerque, NM – We have learned that the Albuquerque Police Department has an ongoing homicide investigation in the War Zone, near the 400 block of Chama St SE. Reportedly, one person was shot, and they succumbed to their gunshot wound on scene.

We have no confirmation yet from APD what has transpired at the scene, but we have a reporter at the scene trying to gather more information. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.

This is a developing story and we will update it when and if more information becomes available from APD.

This is the 33rd homicide in the Albuquerque Metro area for 2023.

UPDATE:

At 6:40PM, we received an email from APD confirming that there was an ongoing homicide investigation. Reportedly, APD officers responded to this location at 4:50PM, where they found the body of a “lifeless individual.” Homicide Detectives have begun conducting interviews and investigating this homicide.
