There is now a reported third homicide in ABQ. The latest happened at the Love’s Truck Stop at 2200 6th St NW, which is off of 6th st and I-40 NW.
We were told on scene that the victim was reportedly shot at least twice and that the victim allegedly died while being transported to UNMH. We are working to gather more details about what what has transpired. We will update this story when more information becomes available.
APD’s Homicide Detectives have been called out to investigate further.
This is the 11th reported homicide for 2023, for the Albuquerque area. This is also the third homicide that was reported in less than 12 hours. Officers responded to the Cinnamon Tree Apartment homicide around 10:30AM and then around noon, officers were dispatched to a home off of Claremont Ave and 2nd Street, in response to a man that was found slain.
