An APD Lieutenant is seen carrying out a child where an apparent massacre occurred
Shortly after 9:40AM, APD’s Civilian Director of Communications, Gilbert Gallegos, informed the media that:
“APD officers are investigating a scene in the North Valley where multiple individuals appear to have gunshot wounds. One individual was transported to the hospital, where they died as a result of their wounds.
The scene is active and all information is preliminary.”
People are advised to avoid the area from 10th St NW and Griegos Rd to 12th St NW and Griegos Rd.
Details are very limited at this time. We will update this story later today.
This is Albuquerque’s 16th homicide for 2023.

UPDATE:
APD reports that this is no longer an active scene and there is no threat to the public at this time. However, they did not say what transpired nor did they say what happened to the other victims that were shot.
Our Spanish is no bueno but while on scene a Spanish speaking couple were behind our cameras and it sounded like they were family and familiar with what had happened. They said that possibly an ex boyfriend came to the home of his ex girlfriend and her new husband and shot the husband and his ex girlfriend then himself inside the home.
