Albuquerque –
On October 9th, 2024, the Albuquerque Police Department got a silent panic alarm from a Bank of the West teller. Albuquerque Police officers went to the location and found out the bank had been robbed by an adult male.
Officers saturated the area to try to find the man responsible for the bank robbery. APD Undercover units were able to locate the bank robber near San Mateo and Lomas within the Shops at Nob Hill shopping complex. They took the robber into custody and we could see officers holding an evidence bag full of money.
Due to him being caught at the scene so fast, he will NOT get one of those cool catchy names from the FBI seeking help from the public to capture him.
The robber will now face federal charges for robbing the bank. Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, or other dangerous weapons, toy guns, or hoax bomb device threats during the commission of a bank robbery can also be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
We will update this story when or if we gain anymore relevant information.
I’m not sure what the Shops at Snob Hill has to do with this, because they are NOT at Lomas and San Mateo. I was right there when APD and several plain clothes cops driving dark grey unmarked pickup trucks nabbed the dude at about 12:50 PM today in the parking lot where the True Value Hardware Store and Subway are on the SW corner of Lomas and San Mateo. He was wearing an orange hoodie. Imagine that! An orange hoodie. He stood out like a sore thumb. It’s as if he was anticipating a trip to the pokey. Nice catch APD!!!!
There is a sign at that shopping center that says “The Shops At Nob Hill”. It isn’t Nob Hill of course, but I guess the owners are trying to brand it that way.
And on top of that no catchy name. Talk about insult to injury.
