Albuquerque –
We have learned that earlier today an Albuquerque police officer has been indicted on charges related to soliciting sexual favors from one of his prisoners. Details of the exact incident are limited but according to the indictment filed in district court the incident relates to a police encounter between Officer Liam King and a woman back in June of 2023.
The indictment charges King with: False Imprisonment with the intent to commit a sexual offense, Demanding or Receiving a Bribe by a Public Officer or Official, violation of ethical principles of public service, and criminal sexual contact.
We learned also that as of January 2024, King has been on the district attorney’s internal “Giglio List” which includes officers lacking credibility. King is currently on administrative leave from the department.
A court record search of King’s cases show a majority of them have been dismissed because of this indictment and being put on the “Giglio List.”
Wow, there’s a Giglio list ? Who would of thunk it
APD Cheif Medina should step down and resign.
If Mayor Tim Keller is too cowardly to fire him, the Mayor should step down and resign
