ALBUQUERQUE – APD released the following updates to the tragedy Thursday that resulted in the deaths of three people in Albuquerque’s North Valley.
Two of the decedents have been identified and next-of-kin notifications have been made.
Danay Morales-Hernandez, 36, was found deceased inside the home, located at 1106 Griegos Rd., N.W. An autopsy determined she died on scene as a result of several stab wounds.
Omar Rodriguez-Hechemendia, 25, was found in the street in front of the home. Rescue personnel transported him to the hospital. An autopsy determined he died as a result of several stab wounds.
The third person, an adult male, was found inside the home. An autopsy determined he died as a result of a gunshot wound. His name will be released when next of kin is located and notified.
APD’s Homicide Unit will continue to investigate the deaths.
According to witnesses Omar Rodriguez-Hechemendia had crawled out of his home into the street where a Park Ranger driving by discovered him. Omar was taken to UNMH where he died in surgery from his injuries.
This prompted a large police response at the home where they found Danay Morales-Hernandez inside stabbed to death and a male still to be identified shot dead by a self inflicted wound. Two children were also found inside the home unharmed.
