APD Searching for Armed Man After Reports of Gunfire in North Valley

Albuquerque –

The officers from the Albuquerque Police Department have responded to reports of a man who was waiving a gun and fired shots in the neighborhood on 4th St between Montano Rd NW and Placitas Rd NW. The police activity remains ongoing as officers work to locate the man.

There are no reports of injuries at this time.

Additional agencies were assisting APD, including the NMSP and BCSO. APD’s air support is also aiding in the search.

APD is advising residents to stay indoors and shelter-in-place. Drivers are urged to avoid the area, as multiple streets are closed. All lanes of traffic on 4th St. are currently closed in both directions.
