Barricade Situation Unfolding in NE ABQ; SWAT Responding

Albuquerque –

There has been ongoing police activity in the 1300 block of Rhode Island NE. The subject is known to have active warrants. A resident in the area claims officers from the Albuquerque Police Department have been negotiating with the person since 2:30 PM.

The APD SWAT team has responded to the barricaded individual inside the residence.

The public is encouraged to avoid the area.

At 6:08PM, the suspect was taken into custody. A reporter is currently at the scene, and we will provide an update as soon as possible.
