Bullets Fly in War Zone Alley, 1 Wounded

Albuquerque –

Minutes after 5:20 PM, a shooting was reported in the area of Florida and Cochiti Rd SE. A witness reported hearing five gunshots and seeing a person who had been shot. The Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire and Rescue were sent to the location.

Upon their arrival, APD officers and AFR emergency personnel discovered an individual who had been shot multiple times, including in the abdomen. AFR transported the personal to the University of New Mexico Hospital.

The offender fled the scene after the shooting, and officers are currently searching for them.

UPDATE:

We have learned that the APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) will be leading the investigation into this shooting.

Reports indicate the person who was shot sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.
