NE Albuquerque –
On October 17th, 2023, the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a traffic crash involving a bicyclist and a sedan near San Pedro Ave and La Corrida Road NE. This is near a popular biking trail.
While on scene we observed heavy front end damage to the sedan and personal belongings from the bicyclist strewn into the median and roadway. A few of the items appeared to be a backpack and a musical instrument carrying case.
The driver of the vehicle was speaking to officers as they conducted the investigation and the APD Motors Unit was using it’s drone to reconstruct the crash scene.
APD has told us that the bicyclist was transported to the hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
We will update the story if and when more information becomes available.
The bicyclist was me. I was 16, and heading home from school.
