Albuquerque –

Around 6:35 PM, on April 8th, a person phoned 911 to report a vehicle crash at San Mateo Blvd NE and Indian School Rd NE. Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department and rescue personnel from Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched.

When they arrived on scene, they reportedly found a vehicle vs motorcycle collision. The condition of the rider or riders is presently not known. APD and Police Service Aides have lanes of travel blocked. It is believed northbound San Mateo is closed at Haines and eastbound Indian School is blocked at San Mateo. APD and PSAs are also blocking off entrances and exits to the Shops at San Mateo, which is on the east side of San Mateo.

This is the second crash with injuries that APD has responded to since 6:15 PM. At 6:15 PM, APD officers and AFR crews responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian crash at Central Ave NE and Texas St NE. The pedestrian was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital. At last check, their injuries were not life threatening.

This earlier crash at Central and Texas does not appear to be affecting lanes of traffic, as the pedestrian was not seriously injured.

If we learn more about either crash, we will update you.
