Albuquerque –

The Albuquerque Police and Fire Departments responded to a bizarre scene at 4401 Montgomery Blvd NE at the Mont44 Apartments earlier today. AFR originally responded to reports of a fire at the apartment complex. When AFR arrived they were told a man started a fire on the roof of the apartment complex. While the firefighters were on scene, Miguel Rosales 36, of Albuquerque became agitated and climbed onto some firefighting equipment.

Firefighters had to battle a fire and a then a crazed Rosales simultaneously so they called police to help. Firefighters took Rosales to the ground and held him until Albuquerque Police officers arrived. APD then arrested Rosales after another struggle with him because he resisted arrest. While Rosales was detained a different man came up to him and struck him.

Rosales was eventually transported to Lovelace Downtown for minor injuries, possible smoke inhalation and most likely a short case of incarceritis. While at Lovelace Rosales also battered two health care workers.

Rosales’s selfish actions cost 32 people a place to live and the National Red Cross is helping them find temporary housing.

Rosales is charged with over $4,000 worth of damage, breaking and entering, arson, and battery on healthcare workers. The charges could increase with the property damage estimates being changed. Our uneducated assessment of the damage appeared to be at least $100,000.00 worth of damage.
