At 12:35 AM on April 2, 2025, Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to multiple reports of a structure fire in the 1300 block of Canyon Trail SW. Upon arrival, AFR crews encountered thick smoke and intense flames at the front of the house. Rescue 14 confirmed a working fire, established command, and initiated a primary search. Engine 14 deployed a hoseline for fire attack. Crews brought the blaze under control within 25 minutes.

AFR states that the single-story, single-family home sustained heavy fire, smoke, and water damage throughout. Fire officials have announced that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

No firefighters sustained any injuries. Albuquerque Ambulance Service (AAS) transported one person to the hospital. As of this publication, their condition is unknown.
