Gunfire at SE ABQ Mobile Home Park Leaves One Dead

Albuquerque –

Around 8:25 PM, a shooting was reported at the East Gardens Mobile Home Park, located at 9000 Zuni Rd SE. The Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene.

A witness stated that an individual driving erratically shot at a person who was in the mobile home complex before fleeing the scene. The victim reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.

AFR reportedly dispatched two medic units from Station 5 after receiving reports of multiple victims at the scene. Upon arrival, they provided medical aid to at least one victim and transported one person in critical condition to the University of New Mexico Hospital.

APD is blocking off the entrance to the mobile home complex and area around the shooting to begin an investigation.

We have learned that the person shot has died from their wounds.

APD’s Homicide Unit has been called out to start an investigation.
