Officers with the Albuquerque Police Department are responding to a reported hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on northbound Interstate 25, just north of Lead/Coal near Presbyterian Hospital. The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene.

According to multiple callers, the motorcyclist was down but conscious at the time of the reports. Albuquerque Fire Rescue is rendering aid to the rider. Their exact condition is not known at this time.

Drivers are advised of delays on interstate 25 northbound.

APD officers, Police Service Aides, and New Mexico State Police are blocking multiple lanes of northbound Interstate 25 at Avenida Cesar Chavez. At this time, it is believed that two lanes remain open.

UPDATE:

As of 4:40 PM, crash cleanup is still ongoing.

UPDATE 2:

As of 5:10 PM, officers still have lanes of interstate 25 blocked off as the motorcycle is being cleared from lanes of traffic. Based on DOT signage, the 2 left lanes are closed.

UPDATE 3:

Officers reopened all lanes of I-25 northbound at 5:20 PM.
