The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian crash at 86th St and Central Ave. Officers from APD’s Southwest Area Command, along with Albuquerque Fire Rescue, were dispatched to the scene around 9:35 PM.

Upon arrival, they located a pedestrian with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The condition of the pedestrian is currently unknown.

Initial reports indicated that the driver fled the scene; however, it is now believed the driver may have returned a short time later.

As the investigation continues, eastbound Central Avenue is reported to be closed between 90th Street and 86th Street. It is unknown if westbound Central is closed at this time. At the time of the crash, 86th St going northbound at Bridge was also closed. Road closures are subject to change.
