Person Found Fatally Shot in Northeast Albuquerque

Albuquerque –

The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a death in the area of Mendius Ave NE and Barnhart St NE.

Around 11:25 PM on August 12th, Albuquerque Fire Rescue and APD officers were dispatched to a crash in the area. Upon AFR’s arrival, they found a person with gunshot wounds. The individual, reportedly beyond help when AFR arrived, was pronounced dead near the listed location.

APD Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have been called out to process the scene and conduct an investigation.

APD officers, Police Service Aides, and National Guard Units have closed Mendius Ave NE and Barnhart St NE, and possibly other streets in the area as APD detectives investigate the incident.
